This policy explains what the Kilnframe Desktop app and the kilnframe.com website handle, where it goes and what your rights are. The data controller is Erhan Meydan (Kilnframe). You can reach us about anything at hello@kilnframe.com.
In short
- Your videos and projects stay on your computer. We have no server that sees or keeps them.
- The app has no ads, no usage tracking and no analytics.
- For AI work, only the text and frames a job needs go to the provider you choose.
- We do not sell your information, use it for ads or share it with others.
What stays on your computer
- Your recordings, projects, transcripts and exported videos.
- Speech transcription, silence detection and person detection run on your computer, on its own processor or graphics card.
- Your API keys and your licence key are kept in the system keychain (macOS Keychain, Windows Credential Manager, the Linux secret service). They are never sent to us.
- The app keeps a short log of its latest errors on your computer. It reaches us only when you send an error report.
What leaves the app

The kilnframe.com website
- The site is served by GitHub Pages. GitHub may log technical details such as IP addresses while serving it.
- Visits are counted with GoatCounter, which uses no cookies: the page opened, where the visit came from, the browser and the screen size. Nothing that identifies you, and no IP address, is kept.
- If you join the newsletter, your email address is kept with Kit (kit.com). You can leave at any time with the link in every email or by writing to us.
- When you press Send on the feedback page, your message reaches us by email through Web3Forms.
Why we handle it
We handle information only to do something you asked for (an AI job, a purchase, an update), to check your licence and to support you. This rests on our contract with you and on the actions you start. The newsletter is sent only with your consent.
Transfers abroad
Most of the services above (the AI providers, Lemon Squeezy, GitHub, Microsoft, Hugging Face, Kit, Web3Forms) run outside Türkiye, mostly in the United States and the European Union. Information goes to them only during an action you start, and only as much as that action needs.
Keeping and deleting
You can delete what is on your computer at any time: delete a project, remove a key in Settings or uninstall the app. We keep error reports and emails we receive for at most two years after the matter is settled; write to us if you would like them deleted sooner. Your purchase records are kept by Lemon Squeezy for as long as tax and accounting rules require.
Your rights
Under the GDPR and Türkiye's personal data law (KVKK, Law No. 6698), you have the right to know what is held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to its use and to take it to another service. Write to hello@kilnframe.com; we answer within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Turkish Personal Data Protection Authority or to the data protection authority where you live.
Children
Kilnframe is not designed for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If we change this policy, we publish the new version on this page with a new date. We also announce an important change in the app.
